WHAT IS RTG?

RTG stands for Restorative, Transformative, and Grounding. The group is Restorative because together we have the ability to strengthen and increase well-being within the group and pass that along to our clients; Transformative because we see the need for and have a desire to make positive change; Grounding because remembering where we come from is essential to staying true to our values and putting the people that we serve first.

The group's vision is to bring together people who have a passion for what they do, a passion for social change and a desire to do something meaningful with that. The goal is to build a strong community that each member can benefit from and in turn pass along that knowledge and energy back into the communities they support.

RTG also plays a crucial role for Sando Wellness & Counseling. In a way, our members are like the board of directors for Sando Wellness, the key difference is the collaborative nature of the group and the in-depth knowledge our members have directly related to the different types of wellness work that each of us do.

OUR MISSION

The Restorative, Transformative, Grounding (RTG) group’s mission is to consult, discuss, resource, problem solve, collaborate, and challenge one another to be the best we can in our respective fields while supporting one another through the difficulties we also face.

RTG's collaborative is comprised of mental health, social service, education, healthcare, and wellness professionals who work together to foster creativity, integrity, connection and community. Members share a passion for making change in the way wellness services are delivered and are driven to break down barriers to access especially for under-served and under-represented populations.

"This group is important to me because the work we want to do will create bridges for those who are currently experiencing barriers to accessing services due to systemic red tape."

"As someone that has had personal and professional experience with mental health issues, it is important to be a part of a group that encourages mental wellness in a realistic way. I've been in spaces that claim to care about mental wellness as long as you can get the work or assignment done on time. Spaces that claim to care about mental wellness as long as it doesn't inconvenience anyone. This group is important to me because it reminds me that mental wellness and self care include the good, the bad, and the ugly days of life."

"As a believer that systemic change is often more effective coming from a bottoms up approach, committing myself to a field in which my contributions yield tangible influence in people's lives aligns with my desire to learn and practice behavioral health at a micro level. Engagement with RTG, and its collection of talent, provides a forum to share ideas and resources suited to pushing ideas upstream to a broader audience with a more macro sphere of influence."

"In my field, I believe change in the systemic and institutional level is just as important as change on the individual level. I want to be in a supportive space with others to continue doing transformative work in all those levels."

"This group is important to me because I know that I do my best work in this field when I am collaborating and consulting with other professionals who offer a wide range of perspectives and experience. As a new clinician, I know I have a lot to learn, but I also believe I have experiences and input to share that could be of value to others as well, and this group seems like a perfect opportunity to accomplish both. The work that we do in this field is important to me because addiction and mental illness have impacted my life and the lives of those I care about in many ways and I know the pain and destruction that results from these illnesses when left unmanaged. I am passionate about providing help and support to individuals seeking a better life."
