Minnesota Asian Adoptee Page

No Agenda, Only Community.

Our Story

We proudly welcome you to the Minnesota Asian Adoptee Page or MAAP, where collective wisdom, knowledge, compassion and skill meets resource sharing, community engagement, connection and more. MAAP was made possible by YOU.

It started with a simple concept that Asian Adoptees are remarkable and have so much to offer one another. The problem? Where were the spaces and platforms to have those exchanges and ignite those connections. And how could we use our powers to give back into our community without having to centralize one agenda.

In spring on 2025, Sando Wellness & Counseling was awarded a grant from the Coalition of Asian American Leaders (CAAL) and set off on a mission to call in our community of Asian Adoptees with ties to Minnesota, listen to their stories, share resources, and learn more about what our community is made of. Through the grant, we were able to pay our founding collaborators for their time and contributions. We wanted to put a stop to any further lateral exploration within the adoptee community by recognizing our voices matter, we do not owe anyone our stories, and our mental and emotional labor is not free.

In just a few months, we spent nearly 60 hours together, sharing stories and wisdom. Our contributors spanned 3 generations and joined our virtual meetings from all over the country and from abroad. We aim to center the Minnesota Asian Adoptee experience, while also including resources from across the country and abroad. The sharing of Asian cultural resources, non-adoptee specific, are also included. We are still and will always be a work in-progress so we hope you will continue to engage and come back often to see what's new!

MAAP was created through collective paid labor of our peers

Our Mission:

MAAP is intended to be a living document and will continue to expand and grow with our community.

MAAP is imperfect and we will continue to make efforts to improve and represent Asian Adoptees to the best of our abilities.

MAAP is not in total for everyone and that's ok! and while everyone is welcome, our focus is Asian Adoptee voices first, specifically those of us with ties to Minnesota and sharing resources that help us connect to our heritgage and one another.

*Everything offered on MAAP is not an endorsement by Sando Wellness, MAAP, or any of our contributors, this is simply a sharing platform.
